Getting started

Getting started with RadioDNS applications as a broadcaster or service provider?

Consider becoming a Member
You should consider becoming a member of RadioDNS. Members are the only group of people able to directly influence the direction and strategic priorities of the project, attend meetings, and call for Teams to be formed to look at creating new technologies based around RadioDNS.
You don’t need to be a member in order to use RadioDNS technologies, but if you’re serious about using RadioDNS in the future, you should ensure that you can help point the way.

Keep in touch
We’d recommend becoming members of our two discussion groups – our announcement list (very low traffic) and our developer’s list (which occasionally gets busy). Register for both of them on our discussions page.

Add your station
Add your station in the RadioDNS lookup table by following this FAQ.
(Separately, if you maintain your own internal DNS server, you can hard-code your station here to enable you to carry on developing while we add you. Remember to remove these hard-coded DNS records later).

Set up an application
RadioDNS by itself doesn’t do much; so you’ll want to set up an application.

RadioVIS is the only application in production at the moment. We’ll have full documentation on how this works coming soon; but, for now, our documentation can help. Feel free to also browse the developer’s list if you get stuck; or contact us.
