It’s day two of IBC 2013, and we’re set up alongside our members from the EBU, at stand F20 in Hall 10. You’ll spot us a mile away, as the EBU have built a skyscraper of a stand this year.
Our member NPO runs stations on FM and DAB which have RadioVIS and RadioEPG functionality. We’re demonstrating how that’s making Radio 1, Radio 2, 3FM, Radio 4 and Radio 5 look much better for listeners.
Our demos this year include the Revo PiXiS for a table top radio, a web-based browser from the EBU, a car radio implementation from Visteon, and a brand new prototype of hybrid radio on a smart phone from Global Radio. On the smart phone, station navigation is by name and logo, rather than frequency, which is useful for showing manufacturers how the experience of broadcast radio can match that from streaming apps.
We’ve had a lot of visits already. It’s been nice to meet some of our members, and to talk to people about how they can get involved in the project. New people, new countries, but a common interest in supporting broadcast as a platform
If you’re at IBC, do come by and see us.
