RadioDNS in Radio World’s Global Radio Update

Rosie Kendrick 19th July 2026

RadioDNS Project Director Nick Piggott has contributed to this year’s edition of Radio World’s Global Radio Update, joining fellow experts from across the industry to explore the trends, technologies and innovations shaping radio’s future.

Nick’s contribution shares the RadioDNS perspective on the evolution of hybrid radio, highlighting how broadcast and IP technologies work together to deliver richer listener experiences and support the future of radio in connected vehicles and beyond, he says, “Radio needs to be on a device that people use, offering an experience that is modern.”

He goes on to say that IP can add value, giving listeners options such as exploring ‘catch-up’ audio from broadcasters and providing extra information to give a similar experience to listening on a music streaming platform.

RadioDNS open standards provide a cost-effective, de-centralised and sonsostent approach to a changing distribution world.

The Global Radio Update brings together insights from industry leaders around the world, making it a valuable read for anyone interested in the future of broadcasting, connected vehicles and digital radio.
