Switching automatically between broadcast radio and IP streaming keeps listeners listening longer.
Listeners want the best reception of radio as possible. Mostly the best reception is on broadcast radio, but sometimes IP streaming can fill in gaps.
Service Following allows a RadioDNS Hybrid Radio compliant device to automatically switch between broadcast radio and IP streaming depending on the reception quality, and can keep listeners listening longer.
For example, a car driving out of a broadcast coverage area can be automatically switching to streaming over the mobile network until it drives back into broadcast coverage again.
You can read more technical details on how this works in our Service and Programme Information standard in Technical Documentation.
