Nick Piggott appointed as Project Director

Nick Piggott 27th January 2016

We’ve big news about the future of RadioDNS.

Having watched activity around the project grow consistently over several years, the Steering Board have decided appoint a part-time Project Director to run the Project Office alongside Caroline, our Project Co-ordinator.

The Board is pleased to announce that Nick Piggott will start as Project Director today (27th January 2016), having led the project since its inception.

This appointment will also improve the separation between governance and executive roles. Nick is standing down as Chair, to be replaced in the interim by Mathias Coinchon (EBU), and Floris Daelemans (VRT) will act as interim Secretary. Elections are planned for 9th February.

Nick Piggott said: “I’m very proud that RadioDNS has developed to the extent that the board wanted to bring more resource into running the project, and that we’re able to reassure our members and stakeholders that the board can provide independent oversight of the executive function. It’s a sign that RadioDNS and Hybrid Radio is evolving into an important component of broadcast radio”

Mathias Coinchon, Interim Chair said: “As RadioDNS grows, it has chosen to appoint a great Project Director to help to continue its growth. This helps the whole RadioDNS organisation continue to realise its mission to become the world’s leading hybrid radio standard.”

The new management team will be presenting at the 10th Annual General Meeting and Open Conference of RadioDNS, on the 9th February 2016 at the European Broadcasting Union, in Geneva, Switzerland.
