RadioDNS is jointly owned and controlled by a diverse set of members representing all parts of the ecosystem. Our rules (statues) control what we do, and we act in a fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory way with all our members, users and suppliers.
Requests to create DNS records (linking broadcast signals with IP) are managed according to our Trust Model, which means we take care to validate that the request is from an authorised source.
We use state of the art methods to secure access to our technology platform, which is frequently backed up. We have had zero end-user affecting DNS downtime since 2014.
Our technology group designs standards that do not infringe on patents or require royalties to be paid. We align and reuse existing standards wherever possible.
Our finances are open for any Member to review.
Operating and administering the DNS root server represents less than 5% of our annual expenditure – the majority is on education and support for RadioDNS users and members.
RadioDNS is open, secure, trustworthy and stable.
